LA PLUME, Pa. ā Nov. 2, 2018 - The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) will crown its 2018 Field Hockey champion this Saturday as top-seeded Keystone College plays host to second-seeded Wilson College at p.m. on Keystone's Turf Field.
The winner of the game will not only receive the conference title, but, an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament which starts on Wednesday.
The Giants, appearing in their first CSAC title game, come into the game with a record of 13-4 and a perfect 8-0 in CSAC play.
They are led by CSAC Player of the YearĀ
Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin)Ā who leads the team with 40 points, and 14 assists. She is also second on the team in goals with 13.
Wilson, in its first year in the CSAC after leaving the NEAC, comes into the game with a mark of 10-5 and 6-2 in the CSAC.Ā
Michaela SingerĀ leads the Phoenix with 33 points on 15 goals and three assists.
The two teams met twice this year, as Keystone won both matchups. Back on September 22, Keystone defeated the Phoenix by a score of 3-1.Ā
Allison Berman (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./E.L. Meyers)Ā had two goals in that matchup, withĀ
Emily Hawkins (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham)Ā making three saves.
In the second meeting, Keystone won on its home turf by a score of 2-1 on October 17. In that game,Ā
Heaven Houck (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale)Ā converted a penalty stroke at 22:45, while
Ā Jackie Martin (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale)Ā scored just before halftime.
