Carlos Bonilla (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge) and senior
Kouassi Kouadio (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) scored to lift the Keystone College men's soccer team to the program's first CSAC title on Saturday as the Giants defeated visiting Wilson 2-1.
The Giants improve to 12-4-1 on the year and earned the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament, with the bracket announced on Monday, Nov. 5. The Phoenix end the year at 3-10-4.
Bonilla tallied his sixth goal of the year in just the seventh minute of action – off a feed from Kouadio – to give Keystone an early 1-0 cushion.
In the 16
th minute, Wilson netted the equalizer as the game entered intermission knotted at 1-1.
In the 60
th minute, Kouadio – who was subsequently named the Tournament MVP – scored his first of the season off a slotted through ball pass from Bonilla – to put the Giants up 2-1.
For the match, Keystone outshot Wilson 23-6, as Bonilla led all players with six shots.
