Balanced Scoring Leads Women’s Basketball Past Penn College 66-57

La PLUME, Pa. – Dec. 16, 2018 – Four student-athletes finished in double figures for the Keystone College women's basketball team on Sunday afternoon as the Giants held off Penn College 66-57 in non-conference action.

With the victory, Keystone sits at .500 at 5-5 (2-0 CSAC) and will be idle through the holiday break until traveling to league opponent Cedar Crest on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 1 pm. The Wildcats drop to 1-9 on the year.

Leading the way offensively was sophomore Khaliah Gordon (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Wood), who netted a game-high 19 points off the bench, shooting 9-of-17 from the field, while dishing out six dimes and grabbing three steals.

Junior Maddy Moro (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) enjoyed another double-double - her fifth of the year and third-consecutive game – tallying 14 points and a game-high 15 boards (six offensive). Moro shot 7-of-11 from the field and swatted three shots.

Senior Mayah Kitchen (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) finished with 16 points (6-of-13 shooting), seven rebounds, five assists and four steals while sophomore Samy Farah (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) tallied 10 points (5-of-10 shooting) to go along with four rebounds, two helpers and one block.

Junior Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) tallied seven points, four steals, three rebounds and three assists while sophomore Faith Shiffer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) dished out six assists to go along with four boards and three steals.

The Giants won the first quarter (22-12) and second quarter (19-14) to claim a 41-26 lead at halftime. The Wildcats won both second-half quarters but Keystone was able to put the game away thanks to buckets by Gordon, Farah and Moro down the stretch.
