MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - Dec. 8, 2018 - Junior
Maddy Moro (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) of the Keystone College women's basketball team enjoyed a double-double on Saturday afternoon as the Giants defeated host Morrisville State 83-79 in non-conference action.
With the victory, Keystone inches closer to .500 at 4-5 on the year and the Giants will host Penn College on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 1 pm. The Mustangs, meanwhile, drop to 1-8.
Moro poured in a team-high 26 points behind 13-of-21 shooting from the field while grabbing a game-high 19 boards (six offensive) and swatting a game-best six shots.
Sophomore
Khaliah Gordon (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Wood) followed with 16 points (6-of-16 shooting), to go along with five steals, four assists and four rebounds. Sophomore
Bre Moore (Charleston, W.Va./Pennwood) enjoyed 15 points off the bench (6-of-14 shooting) while contributing four assists and three rebounds.
Junior
Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) and sophomore
Faith Shiffer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) narrowly missed out on double figures with nine points each, as the duo combined to shoot 7-of-17 from the field (3-of-10 from deep), 11 rebounds, seven assists and one steal.
Senior
Mayah Kitchen (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) chipped in six points while sophomore
Samy Farah (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) grabbed six rebounds.
The Giants enjoyed a 29-14 first quarter and claimed a 52-38 lead at halftime. Keystone won the third quarter, 18-17, before holding off a late Mustang run, as Morrisville outscored the Giants 24-13 in the final period.
