Box Score 2 NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC--The Keystone College softball team picked up its first win of the season in its final day of competition at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.
Junior pitcher
Alyssa Hughes (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) tossed a 3-hitter and helped her own cause with three hits as the Giants downed Albertus Magnus, 12-1, in five innings in the first game today. Â In the nightcap, Keystone fell to Bay Path, 3-1. Â
Against Albertus Magnus, the Giants belted out 15 hits, including two each by senior
Kaylee Hartman (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank Regional), junior
Ryleigh Fitch (Springville, Pa./Tunkhannock Area), and sophomores
Ashley Constable (Bangor, Pa./Bangor Area) and
Mariah Loughney (Jermyn, Pa./Lakeland). Â The Giants broke the game open with a six-run rally in the third inning after opening up a 4-0 lead. Â Five of Keystone's hits went for extra bases, as Hartman, Fitch, Constable, sophomore
Kassadi Woods (Trumansburg, N.Y./Charles O. Dickerson), and freshman
Heaven Houck (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) each doubled.
Against Bay Path, Loughney had two hits, including a run-scoring double in the seventh inning, and Hartman and Fitch each had a hit. Fitch also belted her team-leading third double of the season.
Keystone will return to action on Friday, March 23, against Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Â It will be the Giants' opener in Colonial States Athletic Conference play.
