Terzi, Curreri spark Giants past Salisbury, 2-1, Wednesday

Terzi strikes out five in eight innings and Curreri delivers two-run single in sixth inning as Keystone picks up first win of the season

Salisbury, Md.--Senior pitcher Troy Terzi (Wallingford, Conn./Notre Dame) struck out five and scattered five hits over eight innings and senior Bray Curreri (Eldred, N.Y./Eldred Central) delivered a two-run single to spark Keystone College to a 2-1 victory over Salisbury University at Sea Gull Baseball Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Tyler Widitz (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) relieved Terzi in the ninth inning and induced two ground outs and a line out to pick up his first save to help Keystone improve to 1-3 on the season.  The loss dropped Salisbury to 2-3.

The Giants managed only two hits off of Sea Gull starting pitcher Austin Heenan, who struck out five in six innings but got himself into trouble by issuing six walks, including back-to-back free passes to junior Ronald Medina (Bronx, NY/Dewitt Clinton) and sophomore Adam Kelly (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale) to open the sixth inning.  They then moved into scoring position on a ground out by sophomore Clayton Brooks (Walden, NY/Walden) before coming around to score on Curreri's clutch hit.  Kelly recorded the Giants' other hit.

Connor Reeves relieved Heenan for the final three innings and did not allow a hit the rest of the way.  He also finished with three strikeouts.

The Giants will open an 8-game Spring Break trip to Port Charlotte, Florida, this Friday, March 9, by taking on Otterbein University (Ohio) beginning at 10:00 a.m.
