La PLUME, Pa.—Cedar Crest College smacked 29 hits in sweeping a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) doubleheader from Keystone College Saturday afternoon at Edmunds Field.
The Falcons had 12 hits in a 13-4 win in the opener and came back to record 17 more in a 13-1 victory in the nightcap.
Senior Molly Schnaubelt led the Falcons, now 14-11 overall and 6-7 in the CSAC, with four hits and drove in eight runs, including six in the second game and freshman Patricia Dalton had six hits and six RBIs.
Keystone, which fell to 7-19 overall and 6-8 in league play, was led by sophomore
Ashley Constable (Bangor, Pa./Bangor Area) with two hits in the opener and junior
Samantha Monetti (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) had a pair in the second game.
After the game, seniors
Ryleigh Fitch (Springville, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) and
Kaylee Hartman (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank Regional) were honored for their contributions to the Keystone softball program as part of Senior Day festivities on campus.
The Giants will return to action Monday, April 16, against the University of Scranton at the Kevin P. Quinn, SJ, Complex in Scranton beginning at 4:00 p.m.
