Men’s Soccer Enjoys 3-1 Road Win at Cazenovia

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - Sept. 11, 2018 - Sophomore Carlos Bonilla (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge) tallied a goal and an assist while junior Daniel Zuniga (Lakeland, Fla./McKeel Academy) and senior Chimeka Okoro provided scores to lift the Keystone College men's soccer team past Cazenovia 3-1 in non-conference action on Tuesday.

The Giants improve to 3-2 on the year and return home to host PSU Hazleton on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 4 pm, followed by another home match with Wilkes on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 1 pm. Cazenovia falls to 0-3.

Zuniga found the back of the net in just the 11th minute of action, off an assist from C. Bonilla, to give the Giants the early 1-0 edge. However, the Wildcats netted the equalizer in the 39th minute as both teams entered the intermission knotted at 1-1.

C. Bonilla tacked on his third goal of the year in the opening minutes of the second half, assisted by senior Kouassi Kouadio (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain East), to give Keystone a 2-1 edge. In the 77th minute, Okoro scored his first of the year, thanks to a feed from sophomore Blake Chew (Meshoppen, Pa./Elk Lake), to complete the scoring.

Freshman Erick Gomez (Marrero, La./John Ehret) played all 90 minutes and made four saves in goal, facing eight shots. The Giants outshot the Wildcats 23-8 and held the advantage in corners, 6-2.
