Men’s Soccer Enjoys 6-0 Victory over PSU Hazleton

La PLUME, Pa. - Sept. 13, 2018 - Six different players scored for the Keystone College men's soccer team on Thursday afternoon, lifting the Giants to a 6-0 victory over Penn State Hazleton in non-conference action.

Sophomore Carlos Bonilla (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge) scored in just the fourth minute, off an assist from junior Jarrett Nemeth (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area), to give Keystone the early 1-0 cushion. Sophomore Blake Chew (Meshoppen, Pa./Elk Lake) followed that with a goal in the 20th minute, assisted by sophomore James Johnson (Burtonsville, Md./James Hubert Blake).

The Giants went ahead 3-0 on a goal just 19 seconds later by freshman Harrinson Cordoba (Cali, Colombia/Barbara Goleman), his fifth marker of the year. Senior Elmer Ramos (Kissimmee, Fla./Lakenheath American) wrapped up the first-half scoring barrage with his second of the year - assisted by freshman MarDayus Bothwell (Gadsden, Ala./Gadsden City) - in the 41st minute.

Senior Chiemeka Okoro (Ewing, N.J./Ewing) enjoyed his second score of the year in the 48th minute and Bothwell scored his first collegiate goal in the 86th minute, off a feed from junior Thiago Pinheiro (Curitiba, Brazil/Corona Del Sol), to wrap up the offense.

The Giants totaled 41 shots on the day, with 16 on target. Freshman Erick Gomez (Marrero, La./John Ehret) earned the start and played the entirety of the first half while freshman Marcelo Polar (Lima, Peru/Sarasota Military Academy) and freshman Nicholas DiTommaso (Suffolk, Va./Windsor) split time in the second period.

The Giants (4-2-0) remain at home to host Wilkes on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 1 pm. Following the match against the Colonels, Keystone will be off until Saturday, Sept. 22, hosting Cairn in the CSAC opener at 1 pm. The Lions fall to 1-3-0.
