Nyarko’s OT Winner Lifts Giants Past Wilkes 2-1

La PLUME, Pa. - Sept. 15, 2018 - Junior Michael Nyarko (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) found the back of the net less than five minutes into the first overtime session to lift the Keystone College men's soccer team past Wilkes 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Kouassi Kouadio (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) sent a cross from the sideline and found Nyarko, who tallied the overtime winner - improving the Giants' record to 5-2-0 on the year. The Colonels, meanwhile, move to 2-2-1.

Following a scoreless first half, junior Daniel Zuniga (Lakeland, Fla./McKeel Academy) headed home his fourth goal of the season off a throw in from senior Jordan Vance (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) to give the Giants the 1-0 edge in the 53rd minute.

The Colonels were assessed a red card in the 56th minute and played a man down the rest of the day, but were able to score the equalizer in the 76th minute as both teams battled to go into overtime.

Overall, Keystone outshot the Colonels 22-12, with Zuniga leading all players with seven shots. Freshman keeper Erick Gomez (Marrero, La./John Ehret) made two stops in the win.

The Giants are off until Saturday, Sept. 22 when Keystone hosts Cairn in the CSAC opener at 1 pm.
