Women’s Volleyball Splits at Farmingdale State Tri-Match

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - Sept. 15, 2018 - The Keystone College women's volleyball team split on Saturday, falling to William Paterson 3-0 before defeating host Farmingdale State 3-1.

The Giants move to 3-8 on the year and will host Penn State Berks on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 pm in the 2018 home opener.

William Paterson 3, Keystone 0 (12-25, 23-25, 21-25)

Senior Victoria Homfeld (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) notched a double-double with 12 kills and 15 digs while junior Amanda Hardy (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) orchestrated the offense with 33 assists.

Junior Pamela Heitman (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) paced the defense with 29 digs while senior Kristen Larkin (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) and sophomore Erika Schwoyer (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) both tallied seven kills each against the undefeated Pioneers.


Keystone 3, Farmingdale State 1 (22-25, 25-17, 25-11, 25-23)

After dropping the opening set to the Rams (3-10), the Giants won three straight to claim the match. Larkin led the way with a match-high 13 kills, hitting .385.

Homfeld enjoyed another double-double with 12 kills (.333) and 18 digs to go along with three aces. Senior Taylor Beatty (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) contributed 11 kills, 12 digs and four aces while Schwoyer enjoyed 11 kills of her own.

Hardy dished out a contest-best 40 assists while Heitman led the back row with 26 digs.
