Men’s Basketball Enjoys 76-64 Win at York (N.Y.)

JAMAICA, N.Y. - Jan. 14, 2019 - Five student-athletes finished in double figures as the Keystone College men's basketball team earned its second-straight win on Monday night, a 76-64 victory at York (N.Y.) in non-conference action.

With the win, Keystone moves to 2-15 on the year and the Giants travel to Clarks Summit on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. York drops to 5-12 and the Cardinals host Hunter College on Friday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Juniors Javonte Matthews (North Hollywood, Calif./North Hollywood) and Jalen Flynn (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) paced the offense with 14 points each. Matthews shot 7-of-13 from the floor to go along with six boards while Flynn made two shots from downtown while dishing out five assists and notching four rebounds.

Sophomore Jeremy Jordan (Portsmouth, Va./I.C. Norcom) recorded 13 points off the bench, going 5-of-6 from the foul line, while grabbing six boards. Junior Austin Smith (Titusville, Fla./Florida Air Academy) and freshman Tyrell Lacoste (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) tallied 11 points apiece, as the duo combined to go 6-of-14 from deep.

The Giants led 41-24 at intermission and went ahead by as many as 26 points with 4:43 left in the game.

For the Cardinals Akil Vaughn scored a game-high 16 points.
