Big Second Half Lifts Men’s Basketball Past Clarks Summit 92-78

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. - Jan. 16, 2019 - Trailing 35-26 at halftime, the Keystone College men's basketball team exploded for 66 second-half points en route to a 92-78 victory at Clarks Summit University in CSAC action on Wednesday night.

With the team's third-straight win, Keystone improves to 3-15, 2-3 CSAC and the Giants will host Centenary on Friday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m.

Clarks Summit falls to 0-16, 0-4 CSAC and the Defenders travel to Rosemont on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 3 p.m.

Four players finished in double figures, paced by junior Javonte Matthews (North Hollywood, Calif./North Hollywood), who led all players with a game-high 22 points and a game-best 14 boards (10 defensive). Matthews finished 11-of-14 from the field.

Junior Jalen Flynn (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) followed with 16 points, nine boards and three assists while junior Austin Smith (Titusville, Fla./Florida Air Academy) provided 15 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Junior Ray Mills (Philadelphia, Pa./Overbrook) enjoyed 14 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Five Defenders finished in double figures, as Marcus Dixon and Reed Plantz both tallied 14 points each.

Despite going 0-for-15 from deep in the first half, the Giants kept on firing and heated up in the second half, shooting 10-for-18 from downtown to pull away in the second half.
