Men’s Basketball Drops Tough 85-82 Decision at Cairn

LANGHORNE, Pa. - Jan. 22, 2019 - Five players finished in double figures for the Keystone College men's basketball team but the Giants' second-half comeback fell just short, falling 85-82 at Cairn University on Tuesday night in CSAC action.

With the loss, Keystone falls to 3-17, 2-5 CSAC as the Giants travel to Rosemont on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. Cairn improves to 12-6, 7-0 CSAC and the Highlanders travel to Bryn Athyn on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m.

Junior Ray Mills (Philadelphia, Pa./Overbrook) scored a team-high 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting while providing a team-high six assists. Mills notched five boards and three steals in 39 minutes of play.

Freshman Derrick Donigan (Mt. Washington, Ky./Bullitt East) enjoyed 18 points off the bench, going 9-of-12 in the paint, while grabbing three boards in his first action since Dec. 30 versus Alfred State.

Junior Javonte Matthews (North Hollywood, Calif./North Hollywood) narrowly missed on a double-double before fouling out, scoring 14 points while hauling in a team-best nine boards.

Freshman Tyler Sebastian (Ledyard, Conn./Lee Academy) and sophomore Jeremy Jordan (Portsmouth, Va./I.C. Norcom) both scored 10 points coming off the bench, combining to shoot 9-of-15 from the field while totaling nine rebounds.

For the Highlanders, four players finished in double figures, led by 20 points from Jordan Koczman. Jeremiah Harris tallied 18 points followed by Josh Decker and Malachi Hall, who scored 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Trailing by 14 at halftime (49-35), Keystone went on a 45-25 run in the second half to claim the team's first lead of the night, 80-78, with 2:50 in regulation following a Mills free throw. However, a 7-2 spurt by the Highlanders down the stretch iced the contest.
