Football Enjoys 39-22 Win at King’s

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Keystone College football team enjoyed a 39-22 victory over King's College JV on Sunday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.
 
  • The Giants are now 2-3 overall and will head to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m.
  • Keystone tallied 19 points in the 2nd quarter and added 13 more in the 4th.
  • The Giants notched 6 touchdowns through the air, as Thomas Roach (Burlington City, N.J./Burlington City) went 10-of-12 for 113 yards and 3 TDs.
  • Johnathan Bates (Jersey City, N.J./Hudson Catholic) finished 2-of-2 for 72 yards and 1 TD while Noah Hulslander (Delta, Pa./Kennard-Dale) went 3-of-4 for 31 yards and 2 TDs.
  • Ethan Dunn (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) finished 2-of-4 for 49 yards as the four QBs for Keystone combined to go 17-of-22 for 265 yards.
  • Keystone rushed for 114 yards, with Dunn leading the way with 33 yards on the ground. Jeremiah Allen (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Forks), Alyas Branford-Williams (West Lawn, Pa./Wyomissing) and Matthew McDonald (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Forks) all had 15 or more yards rushing.
  • Angel Rodriguez (Islip, N.Y./Islip) had a huge day receiving, hauling in 3 TDs and 58 yards. Zechariah Wassell (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua Area) finished with 3 catches for 77 yards, including a 73-yard bomb from Bates in the 1st quarter.
  • Javier Tazza (Burlington City, N.J./Burlington City) hauled in 4 passes for 38 yards and Marcus Sessoms (Baltimore, Md./Lansdowne) provided 2 catches for 15 yards and 1 TD. 
  • Montez Gaskin (Baltimore, Md./Edmondson West Side) enjoyed a 12-yard TD reception while Mike Bond, Jr., Connor Gartland (Roscoe, N.Y./Roscoe Central), Maalik Thomas (Rochester, N.Y./Northstar) & Chad Jones (Bear, Del./Alexis I. DuPont) all tallied one catch.
  • Defensively, Brandon Lawyer (Dover, Pa./Dover Area) finished with 5 tackles while Brandon Hammerle enjoyed 4 tackles & a forced fumble.
  • Jamir Spencer-Smith (Burlington, N.J./Burlington City) & Jaylin Whitaker (Catasauqua, Pa./Catasauqua) both had tackles for losses.
  • The Giants outgained the Monarchs 352-308.
