Men’s Soccer Battles Back for 4-3 Win at Centenary





HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. –
The Keystone College men's soccer team battled back for a key 4-3 CSAC win at Centenary University on Saturday.
  • With their 5th-straight win, the Giants improve to 11-4-1 (6-1-0 CSAC) and have clinched a spot in the upcoming CSAC playoffs, with seeding still to be determined.
  • Currently, the Giants lead the league with 18 points.
  • The Cyclones move to 6-11-0 (5-1-0 CSAC).
  • Centenary jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 25th minute before senior Andrew Lupinacci (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) netted a goal in the 39th minute, thanks to a feed from freshman Alex Karbowski (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista).
  • Junior Carlos Bonilla (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge) caged the equalizer in the 55th minute before the Cyclones regained the lead in the 60th minute, going up 3-2.
  • Senior Daniel Zuniga (Lakeland, Fla./McKeel Academy) caged another equalizer in the 77th minute, off a pass from senior Michael Nyarko (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook).
  • Freshman Emmanuel Onwubiko (Newtown Square, Pa./Upper Darby) netted the game-winning goal in the 80th minute to secure the Giants the important CSAC win.
  • Overall, the Cyclones outshot Keystone 12-11 but the Giants had more shots on goal, 8-6.
  • Keystone enjoyed the set piece advantage, holding 14-3 corner attempts.
  • Onwubiko led the attack with 3 shots off the bench while Zuniga & C. Bonilla both had 2 shots.
  • Sophomore Erick Gomez (Marrero, La./John Ehret) earned the win, making 3 stops.
