La PLUME, Pa. - Feb. 21, 2019 – Freshman
Mac Oribello (San Diego, Calif./Westview) scored a game-high 23 points and three Giants tallied 11 points apiece to lift the Keystone College women's basketball team past visiting Cairn University 69-60 on Thursday night in the CSAC Semifinals to earn a spot in the CSAC title game on Saturday.
With the win, the No. 2 seed Giants improve to 16-10 on the year (3-0 vs. Cairn) and will head to No. 1 seed Rosemont on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. in the 2019 CSAC Championship game.
The Ravens defeated No. 6 seed Wilson 70-41 on Thursday evening as well. Cairn ends the year at 13-14.
Oribello shot 9-of-17 from the field and provided eight rebounds and seven assists while sophomore
Khaliah Gordon (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Wood), junior
Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) and senior
Mayah Kitchen (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) all tallied 11 points each, combining to make five three-pointers.
Sophomore
Samy Farah (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) enjoyed eight points and a game-high 14 rebounds while classmate
Faith Shiffer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) provided five points and five rebounds off the bench.
For the Highlanders, Payton Emerick and Victoria Stum both scored 12 points, with Stum pulling down 11 boards for the double-double.
Tied at 16-all after one quarter of play, the Giants outscored Cairn 17-12 in the second period to take a 33-28 lead at the break. The third quarter was all Keystone as the Giants enjoyed a 19-7 period.
The Highlanders outscored Keystone 25-17 in the final session but a three and two free throws by Shiffer put the game out of reach.
