Women’s Basketball Defeats Centenary 71-60 For Danella’s 100th Career Win

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - Feb. 6, 2019 - Head Keystone College women's basketball coach Kristina Danella earned her 100th career coaching victory on Wednesday evening as the Giants upended host Centenary University 71-60 in CSAC action.

With the key league victory, Keystone improves to 12-10, 9-5 CSAC and the Giants return home to host Clarks Summit on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. Danella now has 100 career collegiate wins (18 at Urbana, 65 at Caldwell, 5 at San Francisco State, 12 at Keystone).

Centenary, meanwhile, drops to 8-13, 7-6 CSAC as the Cyclones remain at home to host Cedar Crest on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 1 p.m.

Leading all scorers was freshman Mac Oribello (San Diego, Calif./Westview), who enjoyed a game-high 23 points behind 7-of-10 shooting from the field, going 4-of-7 from deep and 5-of-7 from the foul line. Oribello chipped in a game-high five steals to go along with two assists.

Sophomore Khaliah Gordon (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Wood) and junior Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) both tallied 15 points each, as Gordon shot 6-of-11 from the field to go along with seven rebounds and five assists. Robinson shot 5-of-12 from downtown.

Sophomore Faith Shiffer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) contributed 10 points, six rebounds and five helpers while classmate Samy Farah (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds. Senior Mayah Kitchen (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) contributed six points and five rebounds off the bench.

The Giants made 14 three-pointers, tying the single-game program record, also set earlier this season on Jan. 8 against Notre Dame.

For Centenary, Jessica McKenzie and Danika Brandt both scored 13 points each to pace the Cyclones.

The Giants trailed 28-21 at halftime but used a commanding 22-12 third quarter to pull ahead 43-40 entering the fourth quarter. Keystone outscored Centenary 28-20 in the final period, as the Giants shot 7-of-9 from deep.

Oribello and Robinson combined to shoot 5-of-7 from long range, tallying 20 points between the two players in the final quarter alone.
