NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Keystone College softball program dropped a pair of games on Tuesday afternoon, falling to Franciscan 11-6 before an 8-0 setback to Mount Aloysius.

The Giants (1-3) are off until Thursday, March 14 when Keystone plays Clarks Summit University at 1:30 p.m. followed by a 3:30 p.m. contest against Dean College from Franklin, Massachusetts.

Franciscan improves to 2-1 on the year while the Mounties improve to 5-1.

Franciscan 11, Keystone 6

Sophomore Paige Mokychic (Beaumont, Pa./Tunkhannock Area), junior Shannon Lloyd (King of Prussia, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) and junior Mariah Loughney (Jermyn, Pa./Lakeland) all finished with two RBI against the Barons while Mokychic and freshman Lexi Johnson both tallied two hits each.

The Giants totaled nine hits against Franciscan and claimed an early 1-0 lead in the first thanks to a Lloyd RBI single to left center which plated Johnson.

In the third, Loughney ripped a two-run double to left, scoring senior Gabrielle Truesdale (Tunkhannock, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) and freshman Jessica Troy (Yonkers, NY/Yonkers Middle), as Keystone trailed 4-3.

Down 11-3 in the seventh, Mokychic enjoyed a two-run triple to left - plating Troy and Johnson - while Lloyd brought Mokychic home with and RBI groundout.

Senior Alyssa Hughes (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) was tagged with the loss as the righty went all seven frames, fanning six Barons and tossing 147 pitches.

Mount Aloysius 8, Keystone 0 (6 innings)

Sophomore Lauren Smith (Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) suffered the loss in the circle, striking out one while walking one.
