Baseball Falls 17-7 to Moravian in 2019 Home Opener

La PLUME, Pa. - The Keystone College baseball team suffered a 17-7 setback to Moravian College in the program's 2019 home opener on Wednesday afternoon.

With the loss, the Giants are now 5-8 and will take on Centenary in the CSAC opener this weekend, April 5-6, starting at Centenary on Friday. The Greyhounds improve to 14-9 on the year.

The Giants finished with seven hits as freshman Devin Reed (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) and senior Chris Panzarella (Hazle Township, Pa./Hazleton Area) both went 2-for-4, with Panzarella scoring twice and driving in one.

Senior Dakota McFadden (Rocky Point, NC/Heide Trask) went 1-for-4 with one run and two RBI while senior Ronald Medina (Bronx, NY/Dewitt Clinton) tallied an RBI with a hit by pitch with bases loaded in the third. Sophomore R.J. Gouldsbury enjoyed a pinch-hit double and later scored in the eighth.

Senior Anthony Ferrezza (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) went 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

Senior Mohammed Hussein (Queens, NY/William C. Bryant) earned the start and suffered the defeat as the righty tossed five innings while striking out two. Seniors Luke McDonagh (Carmel, NY/Carmel), Christopher Adams (Brooklyn, NY/Franklin K. Lane) and junior Evan Plante (Albany, N.Y./Christian Brothers) all appeared out of the bullpen.
