Softball Swept at Cabrini on Wednesday

RADNOR, Pa. - The Keystone College softball team dropped a pair of games at Cabrini University on Wednesday, falling in game one, 5-1, before losing game two, 6-3.

The Giants are now 7-15 overall and will head to CSAC foe Cedar Crest on Saturday, April 6 at 12 p.m. The Cavaliers improve to 11-12 on the year.

Cabrini 5, Keystone 1

The Giants finished with five hits, including a solo homer to left by junior Shannon Lloyd (King of Prussia, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) in the top of the second.

Senior Gabrielle Truesdale (Tunkhannock, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) enjoyed a 2-for-3 day, including a double, while freshman Lexy Johnson (Newark, Del./Delaware Military Academy) and senior Samantha Monetti (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) provided a base knock each.

Senior Alyssa Hughes (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) suffered the loss, tossing six innings while striking out two and allowing four earned runs.

Cabrini 6, Keystone 3

Lloyd ripped a two-run homer to left center in the sixth and finished the game with three walks while sophomore Paige Mokychic (Beaumont, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) went 2-for-4 with a run.

Keystone finished with seven hits as Johnson, Monetti, Truesdale and sophomore Baylie Reed (Olyphant, Pa./Valley View) all provided base knocks.

Sophomore Lauren Smith (Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) was tagged with the loss, giving up four earned runs while striking out three.
