Men’s Soccer Falls to King’s 2-1



La PLUME, Pa. - The Keystone College men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 setback to visiting King's College on Tuesday night in non-conference play.
  • With the defeat, the Giants are now 5-2-0 while the Monarchs improve to 5-1-0.
  • Keystone heads to Wilkes University on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m.
  • King's scored in just the 10th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
  • Senior Oscar Angel-Velasquez (Bridgeville, Del./Sussex Technical) netted the equalizer in the 42nd minute, thanks to assists by senior Daniel Zuniga (Lakeland, Fla./McKeel Academy) & junior Carlos Bonilla (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge).
  • King's was issued a red card for a denial of a goal scoring opportunity, which led to the Angel-Velasquez goal off a set piece.
  • The Monarchs played a man-down the rest of the way and managed the game-winning goal in the 77th minute.
  • The contest featured 5 cards (4 yellow, 1 red).
  • King's outshot Keystone 20-10 (10-4 on target) as C. Bonilla led the attack with three shots.
  • Sophomore keeper Erick Gomez (Marrero, La./John Ehret) made eight stops.
