Nduwayo Scores in 1-1 Draw at Wilkes



EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. -
The Keystone College men's soccer team battled host Wilkes University to a 1-1 double overtime draw on Saturday afternoon in non-conference play.
  • With the tie, the Giants are now 5-2-1 and will host Montclair State on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
  • The Colonels move to 3-2-2 on the season.
  • Following a scoreless 1st half, Wilkes went ahead in the 66th minute.
  • Trailing 1-0, freshman Willy Nduwayo (Amarillo, Tex./Palo Duro) scored the equalizer in the 81st minute on a breakaway from the defense past midfield.
  • The contest was tightly played with Wilkes outshooting Keystone 19-18 and holding a slight edge in corners, 7-5.
  • Senior Andrew Lupinacci (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) led the attack with a game-high 6 shots while sophomore Sebastian Bonilla (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge) & junior Christian Byayingabo (Baltimore, Md./Dundalk) both fired off 2 apiece.
  • Sophomore Erick Gomez (Marrero, La./John Ehret) made 5 stops on the day.
