Field Hockey Falls at Wilson 1-0

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – In a battle of Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) undefeated foes, the Keystone field hockey team came up short with a narrow 1-0 loss to Wilson College Saturday afternoon.

  • The regular season finale had CSAC Championship implications as the victory earned the Phoenix (16-0 overall, 7-0 CSAC) the top seed in next week's playoffs to determine a league champion.
  • The Giants fell to 12-6 overall, 6-1 CSAC and will have the No. 2 seed.

Standout Performers

  • Goalkeeper Casey Stratton (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) notched seven saves against Wilson's 10 attempted shots on goal.
  • Taylor Cercone (Dallas, Pa./Lake Lehman) had two defensive saves to bring her season total to 11 and making it her fourth game recording multiple saves.

  • Saturday's match saw only 17 total shots between both teams with Wilson out-shooting Keystone, 10-4, in shots on goal.
