Cockrell & Laidley Combine for 48 in 89-80 Defeat at Marywood

SCRANTON, Pa. – Tone Cockrell (Upper Marlboro, Md./Landon School) and Pete Laidley (Miramar, Fla./Pembrokes Pine Charter) combined for 48 points for Keystone College men's basketball as the Giants fell at Marywood University 89-80 in non-conference action on Monday night.

  • Keystone drops to 2-5 while Marywood improves to .500 at 4-4.

Standout Performers

  • Cockrell enjoyed a double-double with 24 points and 12 assists as the graduate student shot 10-of-19 from the field. The guard also tallied three steals and three boards in 37 minutes of action against his former team.
  • Laidley notched 24 points behind 11-of-18 shooting, while just missing on a double-double with nine rebounds, including six offensive boards. The freshman tallied two assists, one steal and one block in 32 minutes.
  • Gary Brown (Pennsauken, N.J./Camden Catholic) and Tyrell Lacoste (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) combined for 16 points as Brown pulled down four boards and Lacoste grabbed three steals off the bench.
  • Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western High) tallied five points and five boards while Jalen Gregory (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) pulled down six rebounds.
  • For the Pacers, three players finished in double figures as Jason Holman led all scorers with 27 points.

  • The contest was tied at halftime, 40-40, before Marywood outscored Keystone 49-40 in the second half.
