Giants Enjoy 12-5 Win Over Susquehanna

La PLUME, Pa. – The Keystone College baseball team enjoyed a 12-5 non-conference victory over visiting Susquehanna University on Thursday afternoon at Christy Mathewson Field.
 
  • The Giants (3-1) will travel to Centenary (N.J.) in a CSAC doubleheader on Saturday, March 27 at 12 p.m.
  • The Riverhawks fall to 0-3 and head to Juniata on Saturday in Landmark doubleheader.
  • Susquehanna jumped out to a 2-0 lead after three innings.
  • Keystone knotted the game up at 2-2 in the fourth as Nick Carlini (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) scored on a balk and Larry Sims (Winona, MISS.) scored on a wild pitch.
  • After SU reclaimed the lead 3-2, the Giants tallied four runs in the fifth to go ahead 6-3.
  • Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) executed a run-scoring bunt while Julio Acosta (Elizabeth, N.J./Hudson Catholic), Devin Reed (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area), Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) and Adam Kelly (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale) all scored in the inning.
  • SU trimmed the lead to 6-4 before two more runs by the Giants in the sixth gave Keystone an 8-4 lead.
  • Keystone tallied four runs in the eighth thanks to a bases loaded walk by Kelly and a two-run single by Carlini.
  • Carlini finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and three stolen bases. Keystone tallied seven stolen bags on the day.
  • Patrick Adamski (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) earned the start and tossed 4.1 innings, striking out three while scattering six hits.
  • Matt Tarabola (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) earned the win in relief.
  • Wilbert Gil (Allentown, PA.), Nathan Hinkley (Bradenton, Fla./Saint Lucie West Centennial) and Jared Rowley (Dover, Del./Dover) all appeared out of the bullpen.
