Women's Lax Falls in OT to Wilson 7-6 in CSAC Semis

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Keystone College women's lacrosse team fell to Wilson College 7-6 in overtime on Thursday in the CSAC Semifinals at Shippensburg University.
  • The Giants end the year at 2-4 while the Phoenix will travel to Notre Dame of Maryland in the CSAC Finals on Saturday, April 24.
  • Riley Hayes (Alexandria, Va./Edison) tallied 2 goals & 1 assist on 5 shots (4 on goal) while chipping in 3 ground balls & 3 caused turnovers.
  • Krista Strausser (Danville, Pa./Danville) notched 2 goals on 8 shots and provided 3 ground balls, 4 draw control wins & 2 caused turnovers.
  • Victoria Mainero (Francisco Alvarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Patrick's College) tallied 1 goal & 2 assists while Alex Williams (Elkton, Md./The Tome School) tallied 1 goal.
  • Katie Price (Fredonia, N.Y./Fredonia) enjoyed 1 assist, 5 draw control wins, 3 caused turnovers & 3 ground balls.
  • Samantha Hamlin (Binghamton, N.Y./Johnson City Central) & Maria Tomada (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Vicente de Paul) combined for 7 ground balls.
  • Hannah Osbahr (Old Bridge, N.J. /Old Bridge) made 7 stops & tallied 4 ground balls.
  • For Wilson, Michaela Singer tallied 3 scores, while Megan Simms notched 2 goals, including the game-winner in OT.
  • Wilson jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Giants made it a 4-2 game at halftime, thanks to 2 goals by Strausser.
  • KC knotted the game up at 4-4 with 20:44 to play, behind scores from Hayes & Williams.
  • The Phoenix reclaimed a 6-4 lead with 14:09 before a goal from Hayes cut the deficit to 6-5 with 7:18 left.
  • With only 15 ticks left in regulation, Mainero found the back of the net for the equalizer to send the contest into OT.
