La PLUME, Pa. – The Keystone College baseball team defeated visiting Wilson College 13-6 in the opening game of the 2021 CSAC Championship series on Friday afternoon at Christy Mathewson Field.

• With the win, the Giants improve to 20-4 on the year & are now one victory away from the program's 16^th-straight conference title.
• The Giants and the Phoenix square off tomorrow in game two at 12 pm. Should Wilson force a game three, that contest would start 20-30 minutes after game two concludes.
• Keystone collected 15 hits on the day & enjoyed a 6-run outburst in the 1^st, followed by four more in the 6^th.
• Vince Montone (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township) went 3-for-5 with three runs & two RBI while Adam Kelly (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale) enjoyed a 2-for-4 day with three runs, a double & solo homer to left field in the 5^th.
• RJ Gouldsbury (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley) tallied two hits & three RBI while Larry Sims (Winona, MISS.) & Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) each collected two hits.
• Nick Carlini (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) & Seth Brizel (Tamarac, Fla./J.P. Taravella) both drove in two runs.
• Jared Rowley (Dover, Del./Dover) earned the start & the victory, going 5.2 innings, allowing four hits & one earned run while striking out three.
• The righty threw 100 pitches, forcing six flyouts & six groundouts.
• Patrick Adamski (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West), Matt Tarabola (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) & Decker Quintana (Ogden, Utah.) appeared in relief, combining for 3.1 innings, two strikeouts, five flyouts & two groundouts.
