LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College field hockey picked up their first win of the 2021 season by defeating Elmira College 4-2 in non-conference action.
Standout Performers
- Maria Tomada (Buenos Aires, Aregentina/San Vicente de Paul) scored two goals for the Giants while Vicky Mainero (Francisco Alvarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Patrick's College) and Miranda Mascia (Blakeslee, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) scored one.
- Courtney Dwyer (Scranton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) provided a game leading two assists for Keystone. Mascia, Mainero, and Julia Blahut (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock) had one assist each.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Casey Stratton (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) recorded seven saves for the Giants.

Keystone barely edged Elmira in shots (12-11). Mascia and Tomada both had three shots in today's game. Keystone had a 15-4 advantage on corners. For the Soaring Eagles, Kaitlin Bailey led the squad with three shots on goal. Elmira's goalkeeper MeganRae Burke recorded five saves.

With the win, the Giants improve to 1-1 and will continue their home stand on Tuesday, Sept. 7 as they take on Goucher College at 7 pm.
