Football Drops Homecoming Shootout to Gallaudet

La PLUME, Pa. - Damir Green (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep) and Mujaheed Muhammad (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) combined for three scores on the ground but the Keystone College football team fell to visiting Gallaudet University 52-44 on Homecoming Saturday.

The Giants fall to 0-5 (0-1 ECFC) and will travel to Alfred State next week at 1 p.m. The Bison improve to 3-1 (1-0 ECFC) and will host Castleton next Saturday.

Green had six carries for 88 yards and two scores, finding pay dirt on a 22-yard scamper in the first and a 38-yard score in the second.

Muhammad enjoyed 106 yards on 22 carries, scoring on a four-yard TD in the fourth.

Tom Roach (Burlington City, N.J./Burlington City) went 15-of-32 for 160 and two TDs, finding Javier Tazza (Burlington City, N.J./Burlington City) and Da'Jaun Vales (Magnolia, N.J./Sterling). Tazza and Vales combined to haul in 10 catches for 117 yards on the day.

Defensively, Jamir Spencer-Smith (Burlington, N.J./Burlington City) notched 11 tackles (6 solo) while Dontez Crawford (Baltimore, Md./Pennsauken) and Sean Tocci (Lodi, N.J./Lodi) each had eight stops.

For GU, Dre'Vaughn Mack rushed for 142 and two scores while Brandon Washington, DeMichael Shelby and Nicholas Maccini combined for four rushing TDs.

Keystone led 12-7 after the opening quarter but GU responded and outscored the Giants 17-3 in the second to claim a 24-15 lead at the break. Keystone outscored GU 29-28 in the second half.

Momentum swung in Keystone's favor following a 35-yard TD catch by Tazza to start the fourth quarter. However, GU responded on the ensuing kickoff as Eric Gregory - the reigning USTFCCCA Track & Field Athlete of the Year - returned it 89 yards for a touchdown to give the Bison a 45-36 score.
