La PLUME, Pa. - The Keystone College men's soccer team enjoyed a 2-0 victory over visiting Clarks Summit University in CSAC action on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Giants improve to 4-7-1 (1-0-1 CSAC) and will head to Rosemont on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. The Defenders drop to 5-5-2 (1-1-0 CSAC).
The first 30 minutes of the match were scoreless until the 31
st minute, when
Mathias Trujillo (Marathon, Fla./Marathon) tallied his first career goal - thanks to an assist from
Axel Gonzalez (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards) - to give Keystone a 1-0 lead.
In the 55
th minute,
CJ Lampert (Linden, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) scored his third goal of the year - and third goal in the last three contests - off another helper from Gonzalez to hand KC a 2-0 edge.
Overall, Keystone outshot CSU 13-9 and held a 6-4 advantage in corners. 23 fouls were called while two yellow cards were issued.
Erick Gomez (New Orleans, La./John Ehret) earned the start and the victory, making two stops. Hector Camaja played the second half.
