Volleyball Falls at Cairn in Four

LANGHORNE, Pa. - The Keystone College volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision at Cairn University on Saturday afternoon in CSAC action.

In a match with huge playoff seeding implications, the Highlanders came out on top after Keystone won the opening set, 25-22. Cairn won the next three, 25-9, 25-21, and 25-19.

The Giants are now 8-11 (3-2 CSAC) while the Highlanders improve to 13-3 (4-1 CSAC). Currently in the league standings, Keystone is sitting in fifth place while Cairn is tied for second with Cedar Crest.

Keystone will play three matches on the road this week, heading to Delaware Valley (Oct. 17), Rosemont (Oct. 19) and Valley Forge (Oct. 22).

Rebecca Jackson (Quakertown, Pa./Salem Christian School) enjoyed a team-high 16 kills, hitting .414 on the day, while adding a team-high 15 digs for the double-double. Adrianna Derrick (Oklahoma City, Okla./Putnam City) floored 10 kills with six digs while Elise Burk (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) provided nine kills, three assists, and three digs.

Hannah Ankerbrand-Ochoa (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) dished out 34 assists and notched 11 digs and three aces.

Hailey Herneisey (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area), Karielys Gonzalez Ramirez (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon), Kaylee Sargent (Tioga, Pa./Williamson), and Devany Obin (Williamsburg, Va./Bruton) combined for 24 digs.

For Cairn, Allison Barnes and Caroline Conrad combined for 30 kills, with Barnes hitting .517 on the match with a game-high 17 executions.
