Field Hockey Falls at Wilson 1-0

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Keystone College field hockey team fell 1-0 at Wilson College in CSAC action on Saturday afternoon.

With the defeat, the Giants are now 8-8 (4-1 CSAC) while the Phoenix improve to 8-3 (4-0 CSAC) to take sole possession of first place in the league standings.

Keystone concludes the regular season next Saturday, Oct. 29, hosting Lancaster Bible at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.

Wilson scored just 44 seconds into the match, as Paige Ney took a feed from Lizzie Landon to give the Phoenix the early 1-0 lead, which they never relinquished.

Keystone outshot Wilson 14-3 and held a 13-3 penalty corner advantage. 

Jordan Vandermark (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) and Vicky Mainero (Francisco Alvarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Patrick's College) led the Giant attack with four shots each while Maria Tomada (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Vicente de Paul) provided three shots.

Casey Stratton (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) made two saves while her counterpart Allyson Shindler made eight stops.

Saturday's match featured seven cards, with three yellows issued.
