BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - Axel Gonzalez (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards) scored twice as the Keystone College men's soccer team enjoyed a convincing 6-1 victory at Bryn Athyn in CSAC action on Saturday.
With the win, Keystone improves to 6-8-1 (3-1-1 CSAC) while the Lions fall to 3-8-2 (0-3-2 CSAC). The Giants head to Wilson on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m.
Currently, Keystone is tied for second in the CSAC table with St. Elizabeth, as both teams have 10 league points. Keystone hosts the Eagles on Oct. 29.
The Giants opened the scoring in the 17th minute, as Mathias Trujillo (Marathon, Fla./Marathon) netted a goal assisted by Ethan Heller (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) to give KC a 1-0 lead. Bryn Athyn scored an own goal in the 21st minute as Keystone claimed a 2-1 edge at halftime.
Keystone scored four second-half goals as Gonzalez netted two in the 52nd and 69th minutes. CJ Lampert (Linden, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) and Luis Arrieta (Miami, Fla./Miami Killian) notched goals in the 72nd and 74th minutes.
Gonzalez and Daniel Cook (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda/GED Certificate) also dished out assists.
Six yellow cards were issued in Saturday's match with 19 total fouls called.
Keystone outshot BAC 20-6. Hector Camaja, Jr. and Dominic Weber (Martinsburg, W.V./Spring Mills) both played in net, as Camaja earned the win, making one save.
