Football Week Nine Preview: Maritime

La PLUME, Pa. - Following its bye week, the Keystone College football team returns home to host SUNY Maritime in ECFC action on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.

Records:

Keystone is 1-7 (1-3 ECFC) while the Privateers are 3-5 (2-2 ECFC).

Last Game:

The Giants fell to Castleton 35-20 on Oct. 22 while Maritime defeated Dean 30-19 last Saturday.

Senior Day:

Prior to Saturday's contest, Keystone will honor 12 senior members in a pregame ceremony: Carlos Perez (Reading, Pa./Reading), Kevin Lewis (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter), Brandon Smith (Baltimore, Md./Mergenthaler), Chad Jones (Bear, Del./Alexis I. DuPont), Noah Hulslander (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale), Alex Norton (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg Area), Christian Manzolillo (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon), Tyler Clewell (Mahanoy City, Pa./Mahanoy Area), Jon Naniewicz (Greenfield Twp., Pa./Lakeland), Josh Leander (Jersey City, N.J./Snyder), Kenny Livingston (Jersey City, N.J./Snyder), and Jamir Spencer-Smith (Burlington, N.J./Burlington City).

Keystone:

Mujaheed Muhammad (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) is tied for second in the ECFC with eight rushing touchdowns this season while ranking fourth in the conference with 70.9 rushing yards per contest. 

Tom Roach (Burlington City, N.J./Burlington City) ranks fourth in the league with 174.5 yards passing per game.

Seven Giants have 10 or more receptions this year, as Javier Tazza (Burlington City, N.J./Burlington City) leads the team with 19 catches and three TDs. Richie Crews (Cuddebackville, N.Y./Port Jervis) is tops on the team with 269 yards.

Perez, Sean Pettway (Ellenville, N.Y./Ellenville), and Sean Tocci (Lodi, N.J./Lodi) all have 44 or more tackles while Joe Manfredo (Levittown, N.Y./General Douglas MacArthur) has four INTs and three pass breakups.

Josue Hernandez (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) is 4-of-6 on field goals, going 2-of-4 from 30-39 yards.

Maritime:

Steven Stassi is ranked second in the ECFC with 210.4 passing yards per game. Ian Derda averages 103.3 receiving yards per contest while Tate Niederer is tied with Muhammad with eight rushing TDs.

Niederer has 139 carries for 672 net yards. Derda and Pat Quinn have combined for seven receiving TDs.

Defensively, Sergio Borda leads the team with 56 stops while Kevin Wu and Justin Goodwin have combined for 100 tackles. The Privateers have four players with two interceptions.

The Privateers are entering Saturday on a two-game winning streak, defeating Gallaudet (26-24) and Dean (30-19).

What's Next:

Keystone heads to Dean in the season finale on Nov. 12 while Maritime hosts Alfred State next Saturday.
