LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's soccer team wrapped up their nonconference slate with a 1-0 win over the University of Scranton Tuesday evening at the Keystone College Turf Field. With the win, Keystone goes to 3-7 while Scranton falls to 7-3-1. This is Keystone's first win over Scranton since 1969 and the first meeting since 1971.Â
CJ Lampert's (Linden, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) first collegiate goal came in the 55th minute off a pass from Mathias Trujillo (Marathon, Fla./Marathon). Erick Gomez (New Orleans, La./John Ehret) and Hector Camaja Jr. (Palisades Park, N.J./Palisades Park) both appeared in goal and combined for six saves.
Scranton had the advantage on shots (24-7) and corner kicks (4-2) in tonight's contest. Axel Gonzalez (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards) led Keystone in shots with two. For Scranton, Adam Havens and Sean Quin led the Royals with three shots. There were 20 fouls called in the match.
Keystone will get a couple days off as they get ready for CSAC play as they host Cairn University on Sat. Oct. 8 at 4 p.m. Scranton will resume Landmark Conference action on Oct. 8 as they square off at home against Elizabethtown College at 1 p.m.
