LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's soccer team opened CSAC play with a 2-2 draw to Cairn University Saturday afternoon at the Keystone College Turf Field. Keystone now goes to 3-7-1 (0-0-1 CSAC) while Cairn goes to 4-5-3 (0-0-1 CSAC).
Following a scoreless first half, CJ Lampert (Linden, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) found the back of net in the 54th minute for the first goal of the match off a pass from Francois Elize (Fresno, Tex./Lee). Highlanders midfielder Moses Beers scored in the 60th minute to tie the match at one. A couple minutes later, Cairn forward Jesse Brittain would give the Highlanders the lead with a goal in the 72nd minute. Moses Beers was credited with the assist. To cap off the scoring in today's match, Leo Arrieta (Miami, Fla./Miami Killian) scored the equalizer in the 75th minute for his first collegiate goal. Goalkeeper Erick Gomez (New Orleans, La./John Ehret) made four saves in the contest.
Cairn narrowly outshot Keystone 13-12. However, Keystone had a 7-5 margin on corner kicks. Daniel Cook (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda/GED Certificate) led Keystone in shots with six.
Keystone will host Clarks Summit University on Wednesday Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. Cairn will return home to face Bryn Athyn on the 12th at 3:30 p.m.
