HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Keystone College field hockey team enjoyed a 2-1 road victory at Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday afternoon at DeBaun Athletic Complex.
With the win, the Giants improve to 6-5 overall and will head to Bryn Athyn College on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. The Ducks drop to 6-6 on the year and will host Wilkes on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Following a scoreless first quarter, Miranda Mascia (Blakeslee, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) found the back of the cage in the 25th minute to hand Keystone a 1-0 lead. A little over two minutes later, Maria Tomada (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Vicente de Paul) received a feed from Courtney Dwyer (Scranton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) for the goal, giving the Giants a 2-0 advantage, which stood at halftime.
The Ducks cut the lead in half in the 57th minute, thanks to a goal from Sarah Korczukowski, assisted by Paulina Georgoutsos.
Keystone outshot Stevens 13-11 on the day, as Julianna Santiago (Allentown, Pa./Louis E. Dieruff) tallied a team-high three shots off the bench. Angelina Morley (Deposit, N.Y./Deposit) notched another defensive save on the day for her team-leading eighth defensive stop.
Hannah Osbahr (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) & Casey Stratton (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) split time in the cage, combining for six saves. Stratton earned the victory, her fourth of the year.
