La PLUME, Pa. - The Keystone College football program will head to Alfred State University in ECFC action on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.
The Giants (0-5, 0-1 ECFC) fell at home to Gallaudet University 52-44 last Saturday on Homecoming. The Pioneers (3-2, 1-0 ECFC) defeated Anna Maria on the road 30-25 last week.
In last year's meeting (Alfred State 38-7), Kevin Lewis (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) picked up the lone Keystone TD.
Scouting the Giants
Keystone scored 44 points against the Bison last week - the most points in single-game program history. Damir Green (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep) and Mujaheed Muhammad (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) combined for three scores on the day.
Da'Jaun Vales (Magnolia, N.J./Sterling) and Javier Tazza (Burlington City, N.J./Burlington City) both hauled in receiving touchdowns while Josue Hernandez (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) nailed two field goals from 32 and 29 yards, respectively.
Tom Roach (Burlington City, N.J./Burlington City) threw for three TDs and found six different receivers on the day. Chanz Stevens (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) hauled in three catches for 27 yards while Vales and Tazza combined for 10 receptions.
Jamir Spencer-Smith (Burlington, N.J./Burlington City) led Keystone with 11 tackles (6 solo) while Dontez Crawford (Baltimore, Md./Pennsauken) and Sean Tocci (Lodi, N.J./Lodi) each tallied eight tackles.
Scouting the Pioneers
Alfred State began the year with a 17-14 win over Misericordia but dropped consecutive games to Rochester and Husson. The Pioneers are riding a two-game winning streak, defeating Defiance and Anna Maria along the way.
Justin Horvath is 17-of-28 with 314 yards passing and four TDs this year. Jake Palmer has 97 carries for 404 yards and five scores while Josh Graham has 272 yards on the ground with four TDs.
Roman Napoleon leads the receiving corps with 24 catches for 588 yards and three scores. Ben Ba has 16 receptions for 190 yards and two TDs.
Dawson Fontaine is 4-of-5 on field goals, with a long of 36 yards. Defensively, Silas Egenlauf leads the Pioneers with 46 stops while Jeremiah Nixon, Colin Hebbard and Rylie Van Fleet all have 30+ stops.
Van Fleet is the reigning ECFC Defensive Player of the Week and was named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week.

Keystone remains on the road, traveling to Anna Maria College on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 12 p.m.
Following their bye week, Alfred State hosts Dean on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 12 p.m. for their Homecoming.
