WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Keystone College men's basketball team fell at Division I Army 110-65 in an exhibition contest for the Giants on Monday night in Christl Arena.
This is the second-straight year the Giants have opened up at a Division I opponent (VMI; 2021).
Javen Flowers-Smith led all scorers with a game-high 23 points, making eight field goals. Flowers-Smith went 6-of-8 from the foul line while collecting six assists, two steals, and two boards.
Daivel Jackson followed with 18 points, going 7-of-13 from the field and 4-of-8 from three, adding five rebounds and three steals on the night.
Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western) and Shane Rosencrans (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley) combined for 11 points, making three triples.
Keystone trailed 56-30 at halftime as Army shot 56.3 percent for the game (45-of-80). The Black Knights outrebounded the Giants 50-22, with 21 offensive boards.
For Army, four players finished in double figures, led by 15 points from Chris Mann.Â
With 12:26 remaining in the opening half, Keystone trailed by just two (16-14) following a layup from Flowers-Smith. However, Army went on a 40-16 run to close out the period.
Keystone will officially open up the 2022-23 season at SUNY Brockport on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. Army hosts Stonehill College on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m.
