MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Freshman Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western) poured in game-high 30 points but this individual offensive output was not enough as the Keystone College men's basketball team fell 80-69 at Saint Elizabeth University in CSAC action on Wednesday night.
With the defeat, the Giants fall to 8-14 (6-7 CSAC) and will prepare to host league-leading Wilson College (15-7, 11-2 CSAC) on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m. for Senior Day. The Eagles improve to 7-14 (7-6 CSAC) and will head to Cairn University (14-10, 8-5 CSAC) on Feb. 19.
In the current CSAC standings, Keystone has locked up the No. 5 seed while SEU is the No. 4 seed with only one game remaining in the regular season before the CSAC Tournament from Feb. 21-26.
Anderson shot 13-of-25 from the field, going 3-of-6 from deep, with four rebounds and two steals in 33 minutes of action. Tyrell Lacoste (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) followed with eight points while Tone Cockrell (Upper Marlboro, Md./Landon School) provided seven points, seven rebounds, and three helpers.
Pete Laidley (Miramar, Fla./Pembroke Pines Charter) grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds with six points while Matt Campbell (Queens, N.Y./Pocono Mountain West), Shane Rosencrans (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley), Albert Pewa (Philadelphia, Pa./Interboro), and Jalen Gregory (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) combined for 18 points.
For SEU, Pierre Harden enjoyed a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 10-of-11 from the charity stripe. Jarek Johnson, Tyrese Conover, and Darnill Brown combined for 38 points for the Eagles.
The Giants trailed 33-30 at halftime and were outscored 47-39 in the second half. The Eagles shot 56.7% from the field in the second half.
SEU scored 21 points off of KC turnovers as the Eagles' bench outscored the Giants', 33-15.
