Men's Basketball Celebrates Seniors In Regular Season Finale Against Wilson

Giants dropped to Wilson, 61-49

La PLUME, Pa. – Keystone men's basketball closed out the regular season on a 61-49 loss to Wilson Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference play at the Gambal Athletic Center.

The Giants honored four seniors: Tyler Barney (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Pembroke Pines Charter), Darnell Marable (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial), Tyrell Lacoste (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) and Tone Cockrell (Upper Marlboro, Md./Landon School) along with student assistants Donte Brown and Talib Morris.

Keystone had already locked up the No. 5 seed in next week's CSAC Championships and finished the regular season with a 6-8 conference record (8-15 overall).

Wilson improved to 12-2 CSAC, 16-7 overall and will be the top-seeded team in the playoffs.

Outstanding Performers

  • Shane Rosencrans (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley) led the Giants with 15 points off the bench, shooting 5 of 8 with three 3-pointers.
  • Barney was the only other player to finish in double-digit scoring figures with 12 points, going 3 for 6 from long-range.
  • Adrian Thomas led the Phoenix with 22 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double while shooting 11 for 16 from the field.

Inside The Box Score

  • Wilson jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and maintained control the rest of the way, never letting Keystone cut the deficit to single-digits after hitting the mid-way mark of the first half.
  • Keystone shot a respectable 41.2 percent (7 for 17) from the field in the first half, including 5 of 12 from beyond the arc (41.7 percent), but were stymied by 16 turnovers. The Giants took just 17 shots with seven free-throw attempts compared to Wilson's 38 field goal attempts.
