CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Keystone men's basketball season came to a heartbreaking halt Wednesday night in an 86-77 overtime loss to Wilson in Colonial States Athletic Conference Championships semifinal play at the Gannett Field House.
Wilson's Darryl Garib clutched up when it mattered most after shooting a tepid 0 for 14 from the field with two made-free throws through the first 39.9 minutes of game time.
With Keystone leading by two points, the Phoenix had final possession of the second half with 18 seconds and counting as Miles Jordan's corner three-point shot attempt failed, but Adrian Thomas got the quick offensive rebound and found Garib on the opposite corner to sink the buzzer-beating 3-pointer to tie the score and send the game to overtime.
After five minutes of a Keystone-lead in extra action, Garib again hit a 3-pointer for what would be the final go-ahead basket as the Giants would come up empty on their last four shot attempts to close out the game.
With the loss, Keystone's season ends in the CSAC Championships semifinals round at 9-16 overall, 6-8 CSAC.
Wilson (17-7 overall, 12-2 CSAC) will play Cairn (16-10 overall, 9-5 CSAC) for the conference title on Saturday.
