MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Keystone College softball team split its opening contests of the 2022 season on Monday in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.
The Giants (1-1) earned a 12-4 win over Albright College (0-3) before falling to Westminster College (4-0) in five innings, 11-0.
Keystone will square off against Greenville University (2-8) and Sarah Lawrence College (0-2) tomorrow, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Game One: Keystone 12, Albright 4
The Giants jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back against the Lions, enjoying 13Â hits in the season-opening victory.
Lexy Johnson (Newark, Del./Delaware Military Academy) and Jordan Frye (Cheltenham, Pa./St. Hubert Catholic) all finished with three hits each while Elle Olivero (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) chipped in three RBI.
Frye finished 3-for-4 with five RBI and three runs, smashing two doubles and a triple. Johnson went 3-for-5 at leadoff with two runs scored while Alyssa Booth (Holland, Pa./Council Rock North) enjoyed a 2-for-5 outing.
Paige Mokychic (Beaumont, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) tallied a triple and two runs while Erin Dunn (Centermoreland, Pa./Tunkhannock) picked up a base knock and scored twice.
Hannah Dickson (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett) picked up the win, hurling all seven innings.
Game Two: Westminster 11, Keystone 0 (5 innings)
Angelina Morley (Deposit, N.Y./Deposit) and Johnson tallied the lone hits for Keystone as the Titans totaled 13 hits and scored five runs in the fourth.
Courtney Cienki (West Milford, N.J./West Milford), Amber Stansfield (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic), and Frye all pitched for the Giants.
For Westminster, Ashley Wire finished with four RBI while Madison Brown struck out seven.
