Giants Taken Down by William Paterson, 4-1

La PLUME, Pa. –  Keystone baseball hosted its first home game of the season but fell to William Paterson, 4-1, Thursday afternoon in non-conference play at Christy Mathewson Field.

The score was knotted at zero through six and a half innings before JD Barrett (Moosic, Pa./Dallas) roped a double to right field to bring Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) around the horn for the first run of the game.

Keystone's lead vanished in the top of the eighth when the Pioneers strung together five hits with back-to-back-to-back singles to plate four runs.

The Giants threatened in the latter half of the inning with two runners on and two away, but William Paterson's Neel Telidevara was swapped in from the bullpen and got a strikeout to retire the side. Keystone again got two runners on in the final at-bat but went down on a strikeout and a game-ending double play.
