La PLUME, Pa. – Despite grabbing the opening set, the Keystone College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting Wilkes University to begin the 2022 season on Thursday night inside Ace Spalding Arena.
The Giants (0-1) won the first stanza, 25-20, before the Lady Colonels (1-0) responded to grab the next three, 25-16, 25-13, and 25-15.
Rebecca Jackson (Quakertown, Pa./Salem Christian School) tallied a match-high 13 kills, hitting .207, to go along with 13 digs for a double-double with two service aces. Adrianna Derrick (Oklahoma City, Okla./Putnam City) enjoyed six kills, while Sage Superko (Laceyville, Pa./Wyalusing Valley) notched four, hitting .571.
Elise Burk (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) dished out 20 assists to go along with three digs and one block while Jasmine Adorno (Port Orange, Fla./Atlantic) enjoyed two blocks. Defensively, Karielys Gonzalez Ramirez (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) tallied 10 digs. Hannah Ankerbrand-Ochoa (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) notched two aces.
For Wilkes, Hope Ousey notched nine kills while Allison Murie tallied six, hitting .500.
Keystone will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 3, traveling to Bryn Mawr College (0-1) for a 1 p.m. match. The Owls dropped a 3-0 decision at Arcadia on Thursday.
