LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College field hockey team fell to SUNY Oswego 5-1 in their second home match of the 2022 season. With the loss, Keystone falls to 2-2 while Oswego remains undefeated at 5-0.
Maria Belen Rodriguez-Molina (Caballito, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Santa BrÃgida) scored the only goal for Keystone at the end of the first quarter off an assist from Vicky Mainero (Francisco Alvarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Patrick's College). Hannah Osbahr (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge), Casey Stratton (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial), and Lillian Kennedy-Butler (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll School) all appeared in goal and combined for eight saves. Karley Cresswell (Lake Winola, Pa./Lackawanna Trail), Angelina Morley (Deposit, N.Y./Deposit), Cortney Keim (Trevorton, Pa./Line Mountain), and Summer Price (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) all had one defensive save in this afternoon's contest.
For the visiting Lakers, Kacie Simzer had a game high four goals in the game. Kaitlyn Mastracco had a penalty stroke goal in the third quarter. Kaitlyn Ahle and Bryleigh Beauchat had one assist. Oswego goalkeeper Erica Scheblein tallied nine saves.
The Lakers had a 21-16 advantage on shots. Plus, they had the lead on penalty corners, 10-7. Keystone was limited to one shot in the fourth quarter.
Keystone will take a short trip to Scranton, Pa. on Friday, Sept. 16 as they go against cross town rival, Marywood University, at 4 p.m. Oswego will remain on the road as they face off with St. Lawrence University on Saturday Sept. 17 at 1 p.m.
