Giants Defeated by King's in Home Opener

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's soccer team fell to visiting King's College (PA) 2-0 in their home opener Wednesday evening at the Keystone College Turf Field. With the loss, Keystone falls 1-4 while King's move to 3-3.

Both of the Monarchs goals came in the first half as Shane Serio scored the first goal of the contest in the 18th minute. Later in the half, Dylan Domcheck found Phillip Permyashkin in the 40th minute for his second goal of the season. Hector Camaja Jr. (Palisades Park, N.J./Palisades Park) and Monarch's goalkeeper Jake Forst each had two saves.

King's outshot Keystone, 17-9. They also had a 4-2 advantage on corner kicks. Axel Gonzalez (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards) led Keystone in shots with three while CJ Lampert (Linden, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) and Luis Arrieta (Miami, Fla./Miami Killian) both contributed with two shots. Three yellow cards were issued in the match.

The Giants will be back in action next Wednesday, Sept. 21 when they host DeSales University at 5 p.m. King's remains on the road for their next match as they go up against Juniata College on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m.
