Field Hockey Edged by King’s, 3-1

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College field hockey team fell to King's College (PA) 3-1 Tuesday evening at the Keystone College Turf Field. With the loss, Keystone falls to 3-4 while King's improves to 3-4.

Maria Tomada (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Vicente de Paul) scored the only goal for the Giants in the fourth quarter off a penalty corner by Miranda Mascia (Blakeslee, Pa./Pocono Mountain West). Casey Stratton (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and Hannah Osbahr (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) both appeared in the cage with Stratton recording nine saves on the night. Angelina Morley (Deposit, N.Y./Deposit) tallied a defensive save, her fourth of the season.

For the visiting Monarch's, Jessie Smalley tallied two goals in the final quarter. Her two goals were 32 seconds apart from each other. Hannah Chocallo had the first goal of the game, coming in the second quarter, off an assist from Hannah Robbins. Monarch's goalkeeper Ellie Glatz had three saves.

King's outshot Keystone 18-9 with a 7-3 advantage on penalty corners. Julianna Santiago (Allentown, Pa./Louis E. Dieruff) led the Giants in shots with three. Tomada and Jordan Vandermark (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) both recorded two shots.

Keystone will be back home this Saturday, Sept. 24 as they open CSAC play against Sweet Briar College at 10 a.m. King's will host CSAC opponent Cedar Crest College on Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.
