MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Despite leading 2-1 in the 81st minute, the Keystone College women's soccer team settled for a draw at St. Elizabeth University on Tuesday, tying with the Eagles 3-3 in CSAC action.
With the draw, the Giants move to 3-3-1 (0-1-1 CSAC) and will travel to Valley Forge (0-5, 0-1 CSAC) on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. The Eagles improve to 2-5-1 (0-1-1 CSAC) and host Notre Dame of Maryland (2-2, 1-0 CSAC) on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
SEU jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute but Natalie Cross (Hop Bottom, Pa./Mountain View) ripped in the equalizer on a free kick in the 31st minute as halftime held a 1-1 deadlock.
Keystone enjoyed back-to-back goals in the 58th and 81st minutes, thanks to two scores by Hailey Dunham (Southgate, Mich./Inter-City Baptist). Dunham's first goal was assisted by Megan Weber (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) while her second came on a penalty kick.
The Eagles wouldn't go away and scored two late goals to end the game in a draw. SEU tallied scores in the 84th and 86th minutes.
Dunham led all players with 10 shots on Tuesday, with five on target. Cross provided three shots on goal while Brooke Freni (Glendora, N.J./Triton Regional), Karissa Cowles (Rome, Pa./Northeast Bradford), and Chloe Hoffman (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) all had two shots.
Annie Metzger (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) made seven stops for the Giants. Her counterpart, Julia Stewart, made eight saves for the Eagles.
Laila Kendle finished with two goals and one assist on nine shots for SEU.
